BPA Free Canned Foods (not only BPA free but organic too)
-Eden Organics (except their tomato products) -Native Forest Coconut Milk -Amy's Kitchen -Glen Muir (they make lots of organic tomato varieties) Trust me, I realize these products aren't hanging around every island grocery store. But be sure to look. Consider ordering online and definitetly stock up if/when you are in a developed country! If you have to buy other can products rinse the contents before you cook/eat them and buy organic when you can- non organic canned food is grown using GMOs and chemicals that we are consuming when we eat them. Packaged & other stuff we like to have on hand... -Jarred Sauces, like "Seeds of Change"- I've seen these for sale in some Caribbean island grocerys. They are organic (some varieties are not vegan so look) Excellent for making a quick meal w/rice or quinoa -Lara Bars/Clif Bars or comparable- organic w/ natural ingredients -MI-DEL organic ginger snap cookies -Plenty of raw nuts & dried fruit (my own trial mix!) -Jacobs Crackers- made in UK, these are not packaged organic but they have very limited ingredients, no salt & we find them everywhere in the islands; they work so well with peanut butter, hummus, or plain -Peanut Butter- the natural kind -Oatmeal- just the oats, no additives -Popcorn kernals- we like popcorn as a snack! |
